New Year’s Eve and Day 2013 the Save More Spend Less with Heidi way!
New Year’s Eve and Day 2013 have almost came and gone as quickly as they arrived. The year 2012 was full of ups and downs, experiences, and lots of memories that we will cherish forever. This New Year’s Eve we had our best friends over for a fun filled night. But our “Best” Friends have been parts of our lives for years and hopefully years to come. Amanda and I have been best friends since Kindergarten and we now have daughter’s that are 6 months to the day apart. We are like peanut butter and jelly, always together even through the thick and thin.
So when we were discussing our plans we decided a night in with the kids would be the perfect solution. They came over and we the mom’s planned a sleep over!! We fixed spinach dip (recipe and blog post to come later), little smokies, crab dip, chicken wings, and of course nachos. We had sweet tea, sparkling grape juice, pop and lots of fun things planned. We even added 2 more kids to our 4 and had others here as well.
The older girls all 13-15 spent the night upstairs talking, eating, giggling and doing the same things Amanda and I did several years ago. The 2 younger girls 11 and 7 and the 8 year old boy spent the night downstairs in the kitchen playing various board games. The 4 adults were going to play cards, but decided the flash back show of Dick Clark through the years. We were in our pajama’s by 9 pm but had a fabulous time throughout the night. It sure is amazing how your perspective changes through the years.
Then after the excitement of the ball dropping, wishing each other a Happy New Year and of course cleaning up the kitchen we settled in for the night. We had air mattresses for everyone to sleep on or a couch, chair or spare bed. We all went to sleep for a few hours and got up and had a leisurely breakfast of oven baked french toast!! What a genius idea that was and the mess all fit into the dishwasher.
We all got around and we all went our separate ways around noon. We had to attend our 5th Christmas get together of the year (2012) and we are now looking forward to a very prosperous New Year. While at that Christmas I spent lots of time playing with nieces and nephews (14 of them) and of course holding and loving on Willow. We even did some visiting and a quick bargain run to Hy-Vee to buy super cheap make-up. (Post to come tomorrow).
How was your New Year’s Eve and New Years Day?
