Outdoor Activities for Kids
As the warmer weather sets in, it’s nice for the whole family to spend some time outdoors. It’s important to get that dose of vitamin D that everyone needs, but as our winters get longer and colder it becomes more difficult. Planning a few outdoor activities with your kids will ensure everyone gets a bit of fresh air. However, with so many indoor distractions, like movies and video games at the tips of their fingers, it can be hard to persuade them to join in. Here are some ideas to get those little feet moving.

Treasure Hunt
This one you can get all the family involved in. It doesn’t have to cost much either. You can do the hunt in your own back garden or choose somewhere you know fairly well so you won’t get lost. There are tons of clues you can print out from the internet. Then all you need to do is sneak away for half an hour and lay your clues out for your family to find. Don’t leave any prizes at the end of the trail. You don’t want any disappointed faces if some heartless person comes along and steals the treats while you’re hunting. Either take the prizes with you or leave them at home so they’re safe and sound when you get back.
A Picnic
You may find that your children are invited to more picnics during the Summer months. It’s becoming a popular way to celebrate a birthday. Encourage your kids to go to picnics and you can contribute by sending some fresh fruit with them. A great way to persuade them is shopping for a new outfit at kenzo kids. You’ll probably find they have more fun than they think!

Fun at Home
You can’t beat a bit of fun in the garden, and it costs virtually nothing. If you’ve got a nice sunny day, and you don’t mind getting in a mess, why not try some water balloons? Another alternative is some paper and paint gun – the kids will love it. You can also pick up some glow in the dark chalk that’s great for concrete and washes off pretty easily. As the sun starts to go in, the messages your kids have written will start to glow.

A Day at the Beach
Pack some sandwiches and drinks and head off to the beach for the day. If you find a beach that allows dogs, you can also take them with you. It’s hours of fun for the kids, building sand castles and splashing each other (and you) in the water. If you’re at a beach, you can almost guarantee you’ll find ice-cream and lollies within walking distance. They may even be games like slot machines and crazy golf nearby too. End the day with a take-away meal, like chips or pizza and you’ve got yourself the perfect family day.
There are lots of ways to keep the kids entertained outdoors. Make sure you’ve got your camera handy to capture all of the memories!
