The Pirate Fairy Review
On my trip to Los Angeles, I was given the opportunity to interview the producer and writer of The Pirate Fairy. They were wonderful and full of information about the film and we were even allowed to preview it while we there. We all absolutely loved the movie but after we arrived home our copy of the Blu-ray + DVD showed up the very next week. I have now watched this awesome movie 4 times!!
The Pirate Fairy is a high adventure film with pirates, battles, and fairies which keep this movie very exciting. Pixie Hollow remained true during the film as well which allowed them to tell a story without losing the storyline. From the world of Peter Pan comes The Pirate Fairy, a new adventure about Zarina who is a smart and ambitious dust-keeper fairy who is captivated by Blue Pixie Dust and its endless possibilities. You know from the beginning that she is going to be the star of the show but that the pirates, as well as the other fairies, are going to play intricate rolls as well.
Because this film is based on a lot of pirate-like items they worked closely with Peter Twist. Peter Twist is a pirate consultant helped teach them the hierarchy of pirates, the ship, and of course some pirate language as well. Because pirates don’t really have a code of ethics that was something that was taught as well and then they used the Animation Research Library so they could use original pieces from the film to tie it all together and to make it the best movie they could.
Throughout the whole movie, they use familiar scenes such as Skull Rock, Rainbow Ribbons over Neverland, Pixie Hollow and of course the second star. But no matter what the scene the fairies were inhuman scale up against pirates in 3-D and of course with just the right effects. The fairies, of course, work together to defeat the pirates and learn that when you work together everything can be conquered.
Because both boys and girls alike love Peter Pan and of course Tinker Bell bringing the fairies back into their lives was a great accomplishment. The Pirate Fairy has been a hit with boys and girls alike, but one thing has held true to Hook. Hook is discovered in the movie at different times in the stories as well as scenes. For myself, I had an idea during most of the movie, but when he put the hat on I knew that Hook had made his “official” appearance. But when the hook is on at the end of the movie it was like the circle had been completed. Making this movie great for boys and girls wasn’t a goal that they were trying to accomplish, it just was the making of the greatest story you can that lead that to happen.
I don’t want to ruin the storyline for you but it is a much watch movie that comes out on April 1st and a must own movie for your Disney collection.
Special Screening of The Pirate Fairy, Carlos Ponce joins the cast! , Singer/Songwriter Natasha Bedingfield Takes Flight with The Pirate Fairy and of course a sneak peek into the film as well.
*Disclosure: I received an all expenses paid trip to Los Angeles for the #ABCTVEvent and #Disneyevents in exchange for my coverage. All opinions are 100% my own.
