Pralines Day
Pralines Day is celebrated each year on June 24th. Pralines have came along ways since they originated in France hundreds of years ago. They started out as almonds coated in caramelized sugar. They were brought to Louisiana by the French where chefs added pecans instead of almonds and the present day praline was born. Adding cream to the mixture has made them easier to make and now all kinds of nuts are used to make pralines. Pralines are easy to make and of course a delightful treat so be sure to celebrate this food holiday today!
