Putting Pounds Into Perspective-My Cinch Journey is just beginning

Putting Pounds Into Perspective sounds easy right? Through the years, I’ve always been a big girl, even in high school. I have been obese (by definition) most of my life. I had accepted the fact that I would always be the “fat” girl, fat sister, the bigger of the kids and just accepted it. When the opportunity arose to apply to be part of the Team #Cinchspiration I filled out the form and deleted it. Then for whatever reason I went back, filled it out again because I knew I was “safe” and could never be chosen out of the hundreds of applicants. But little did I know when I hit the submit button it would be the beginning of a life changing transformation!! And now the rest is history or so they say!! 430811_526121457407045_293573506_n   The day I found out I was one of 50 bloggers chosen for Team #Cinchspiration out of 264 applicants. I was visiting my dad in the hospital. My phone literally started buzzing, ringing and beeping hundreds of times over and over from people telling me Congratulations. I couldn’t imagine what I was being congratulated for so I finally asked what was going on. After a few questions I saw the announcement. I literally couldn’t believe my eyes and knew this was a chance of a lifetime. I was very skeptical because every diet I have been on lasted days, weeks, months, or even hours. Why would Cinch be any different? So as I prepared to start my Cinch and Team #Cinchspiration I decided to set goals so I could see the progress I was making. My goals were as follows:

  1. Take it one step at a time
  2. Drink lots of water–Half my body weight in ounces
  3. Exercise at least 3 days a week
  4. Take it off the same way it came on, one pound at a time!!
  5. If you get off course, pick back up tomorrow.
  6. Lose 20 pounds for starters.
  7. Lose 40 pounds
  8. Reach 200 pounds
Wow, those were some good goals and now that I am at the end (beginning, continuation) I am proud to say I met those goals!! I know that reaching those goals were just stepping stones along my journey. Since being chosen by Shaklee to be on Team #Cinchspiration lots of things have changed! Not only for myself, but my team members, my family and most importantly me. I knew so much going into it but I think for whatever the reason it clicked this time!! So here a quick glimpse into my not pretty years.

As I was reflecting I decided that I haven’t been reaching my full potential the last 12-14 years. Why you ask? Because I allowed myself to get bigger (fatter), and just plain lazy. Looking back through pictures, photo albums and stacks of albums I decided a few things. 1. With hard work and dedication anything is possible. 2. If it is hard it is worth it! 3. Keep going you have came a long ways!!! 4. It’s not just 44 pounds, that’s an equivalent to my niece Sage who is 5!!! (HOLY COW) Putting Pounds into Perspective 5. Keep working toward a goal no matter how small it may seem. When I set my Cinch goals I never imagined I would reach one of them let alone ALL of them!! 525993_526132347405956_1890721503_n Now that I’m at the end of my 6 month Team #Cinchspiration journey I have allowed myself to reflect on all of the positive changes Shaklee has made for my family and I. I have lost a total of 44 pounds and 34 1/2 inches. Words can’t express what I am feeling right now!! Happy, Elated, Overwhelmed, a since of Pride!!!

Now for the most shocking part, you know the weight loss before and after pictures. I’ve always thought there is no way possible that is the same person. I was right about that because once you have lost a lot of weight you are a different person because the change is on the inside not just the outside. The change is not only physical but emotional as well as mental. The outer body is the same one but there isn’t the excess baggage, their is someone left that is more self-confident, proud of what they have achieved and most importantly a more healthy person. As I look forward to what is coming next, I don’t know what to expect but I do know that my life will never be the same as it was just 6 short months ago. I am wearing clothing the same size that I wore before having my daughter 14 years ago. I never dreamed I would be that small again and am more than humbled that I was one of the 50 bloggers chosen for this great journey. Throughout the journey we have lost a few members due to various reasons, but I am one of the lucky 25 women left! No matter where I rank in those 25 whether it be 25, 20, 15, 10, 5, 3, 2, 1 I am proud to say I was one of the original 50 bloggers chosen to represent Team #Cinchspiration. As well as a healthier, more energetic, and more positive Heidi. No matter which place I receive or even if I don’t receive one at all I am ecstatic with my progress and know now that I can accomplish anything. In my heart of hearts I know I already won because my family and I will reap the benefits of Cinch for years to come!!3

This journey has been full of ups and downs, smiles and tears. But the one thing that has remained constant has been my family and friends cheering me on. My 14 year old daughter has walked countless hours with me, my husband was the drill Sargent that made me get up and get moving when I didn’t want to do it. Sommor Poquette and all of Cinchspiration team members challenged me each day to keep moving in a positive direction. My most important advice to you all is this: If I can do it, you can too!! If you get off track, pick yourself up and get back on the wagon. I promise YOU are worth the time and effort to make yourself be what you can(want) to be!! This is the first time in my life that I have actually been successful at weight loss!! I am confident that I will continue to lead a healthier lifestyle, be more active, and reap the benefits for many more years.
