Resurrection Review
Watching a new show is always at the top of my to do list especially the first season. But I had never heard of Resurrection before my Los Angeles trip! While traveling I was able to meet with the writers/director of the show Resurrection and they shed some amazing light onto the show.
Season 1 includes Jacob coming back to the small town of Arcadia, Missouri first followed by several others! But they all have one thing in common, they are tied to Agent Bellamy!
Season 1 includes 8 episodes that keep you coming back for more each week, trying to solve each mystery as it unfolds. The season 1 DVD includes 344 minutes of Resurrection along with bloopers, deleted scenes and of course a few theories as to what is really happening in this great new mysterious series!
RESURRECTION
While on my Los Angeles #ABCTVevent we had the opportunity to interview Resurrection Executive Producers Tara Butters (@breadandbutters) and Michele Fazekas. Which was an amazing trip and interview at well, that answered several questions, but also left some unanswered questions as well. They were both very nice, candid and answered all of our questions in great detail. The only question that I have left unanswered is “What would it be like if this really happened, would I believe or be a disbeliever?” which obviously is an answer they wouldn’t have.
One of the first questions we asked the dynamic duo was the following:
Q: Are we going to find out how these people were brought back?
T: “That’s one of the central questions of the entire series.”
M: As writers, one of the things we try to do was we try to answer some questions, but like anything when you get 1 answer, it kind of makes you have more questions. And in some ways, it’s almost beside the point because they’re back now. Regardless of how they came back. And it is something that Marty and Maggie are investigating and trying to figure out.
In the meantime, these people are still here. Much of the drama comes from, “What do you do now that you have this 8-year-old boy? How do you deal with that?” Henry’s got a very complicated reaction to this. He feels like “If I embrace this boy as my son, am I betraying the memory of the child that I lost.” Why is it happening is a question, but that’s not the central theme of every single episode.
With each person who comes back there is one thing they all have in common and that is that they don’t remember how they died. And it is safe to say that more dead people are coming back to this quaint little town for at least the next 8 episodes. Jacob was just the stone thrown into the pond that will start a ripple affect that characters in both good and bad ways.
Lost was an influence in this show and we will get some answers as to why all of the characters are coming back, but with all mysteries there has to be unanswered questions to keep you coming back for more. The music in Resurrection is creepy and weird but it of course makes sense in this unfolding mystery. Resurrection is a must watch show on ABC on Sunday evenings at 8 pm Central time. Join me as we watch the second episode to watch the mystery of dead people coming back to life continue. Read more about my interview here!
As I am sure you have seen more and more characters are coming back from the dead to come back to this small town. But what did Agent Bellamy have to do with them all?? We will have to wait for season 2 to find out!! Tune into ABC on Sunday nights starting this Fall to find out!!
