Sandwich Day

Sandwich Day

Sandwich Day is celebrated on November 3 each year. Sandwiches are always a great meal to grab when you are on the run. We have lots of sandwiches here at the SMSL with Heidi household especially since we brown bag our lunches. Sandwiches are made with a filling and usually two slices of bread so that it is easily transported. We all have our own “favorite” sandwich so here they are!

Elizabeth- Loves sliced turkey, Velvetta cheese slices, with a lettuce leaf and ketchup on the side. That way it doesn’t get soggy while it’s in her lunch bag.

Mr. SMSL favorite sandwich is a ham salad sandwich and we make our own ham salad. Use the food processor to chop the ham up into small pieces, throw in a small onion and chop it up too. Mix the onion/ham mixture with some Miracle whip and mustard and you have his version of ham salad. Quick and easy to make so it is always on hand.

My favorite sandwich is a roast beef sandwich with swiss cheese. I just use the leftovers from a roast meal, add the cheese and you have the perfect sandwich. One of our favorite ways to track sandwiches is these reusable sandwich bags!

Family favorites include:

  • Chicken Sandwiches
  • Hamburgers/Cheeseburgers
  • BLT’s
  • Chicken Bacon Ranch
  • Meatball subs
