Ways to save on Graduation Party Supplies
If you are graduating or you know someone who is graduating, you know how expensive planning a party can be. From decorations and food to plates and cups, there’s a lot that goes into a graduation party. However, instead of paying top dollar on one day, you can find ways to save on graduation party supplies. I know that we are doing lots of different things to save big on Liz’s big day. Here are a few ways to help you save on your own Graduation Party Supplies.
- Make a List: The biggest way consumers spend more money than what they want is by not having a list. We see a super cute decoration and without thinking, buy. Instead, make a plan in your head of what your graduation party will look like and make a list of what you need before shopping.
- Shop Online: From eBay to
Amazon , there are tons of online party stores and supplies. On top of finding wholesale prices online, you can, also, combine it with EBates. EBates gives you cash back on purchases from hundreds of online stores. - Use what you have: There is no reason to go out and buy new chip bowls or new punch bowls, instead, use some creativity. Decorate what you already have to fit your graduation theme. A little black ribbon can transform any ordinary dish into a graduation dish.
- Check out Thrift Stores: You never know what you can find at a thrift store. All stores, including thrift stores, plan for the season coming up, so all graduation supplies will be out early. Take a look and see what they have.
- Shop Oriental Trading: They have a large selection of graduation supplies available and there are a few items you can even have personalized. We received several things from there and I can’t wait to put it all together to pull together the final graduation celebration party in May!
- Take Your Own Pictures: Hiring someone to take graduation pictures is quite pricey, but with all the new technology available, you can take your average photography skills and make them look professional. You can even place the year on them just like the pros. Take lots of pictures, so you can transform the very best ones.
- Print out and stuff these adorable graduation pillows. Fill them with candy

Having a budget may seem like a challenge, but in reality, we should all have a budget. Spending less on frivolous things leaves more money for the really important things like taking a trip to Disney World as a family.
What have you done with money you have saved from shopping frugally?
