Every day is a new day, a day to be positive, and be your best self. Life is full of ups and downs, some days you will be smiling and feeling your best, and other days your mental health won’t be as positive. On either type of day, it’s important to wake up and try to feel your best, even when you don’t feel like it.

By trying to feel your best every day, you’ll ooze confidence, you’ll feel empowered and psychologically you’ll be more motivated throughout the day. If you are having a lower day, it will help give you that extra 20%. On a really positive day, it will take you to the next level. Positivity is a powerful thing and making that extra bit of effort can really make a big difference to your day – think of it like the weather, when you wake up and open your curtains when the sun is shining in, it feels a lot more positive than when it’s raining and howling with the wind. 

There are many changes to your daily routine that you can make to help you feel your best every day. Some changes are smaller and easier to implement, others a little bigger and take some effort and getting used to. Some of these tips include improving your diet, getting plenty of sleep, drinking plenty of water, sticking to a beauty routine, dressing to impress, and so on.

Improving your diet

You will have heard this saying many, many times – you are what you eat! Enjoying a healthy balanced diet has an essential impact on how you feel on a daily occurrence. Fatty foods can cause you to feel sluggish, and unhealthy and lead to your immune system being lower. Good foods on the other hand can improve your mental well-being, protect your body from unwanted illnesses and taste good. Of course, we would never say to eat a completely clean diet as everything should be enjoyed in moderation. Instead, try using an app to track your diet and spot any nutritional elements that you may be low in. Once tracking your diet, you may be surprised to see you are deficient in certain areas like your vitamins which could be why you are not feeling your best some days. Key elements to aim for when improving your diet is to make sure you are eating five pieces of fruit and vegetables. This can be done on its own by eating fruit or adding vegetables to the meals you are cooking. 

Stick to a healthy beauty routine 

It’s very true that in order to feel your best, you want to view yourself as your best. If you enjoy getting your makeup out, then do it. You will feel a lot more positive when leaving the home as well as feel more confident. When looking into your beauty routine, our tip would be to make sure it’s healthy for your skin. Use cruelty-free products and make sure you don’t overdo it – a good moisturizing routine is important and don’t forget about your hair. Looking after your hair is as important as all your other beauty routines. You can always see when someone’s hair is looking healthy. Stay hydrated 

Just like eating your five pieces of fruit and vegetables a day, you should be drinking around 2-3 liters of water a day. Water benefits your body by keeping you hydrated and fueling your skin, helping its elasticity. It also helps improve your concentration and energy levels. When your energy levels are low, this is when you can start to feel negativity as your body isn’t fueled properly. Other areas where water helps is keeping your concentration, reducing headaches, and feeling fatigued. A good tip for increasing your water intake is to fill up a two-liter bottle of water each day. By the time you go to bed make sure you have finished this – this way you know you have drunk enough that day. If you don’t want to carry around a big bottle with you, there are plenty of apps that you can use which will help you keep track of how much you have drunk. 

Dress to impress 

Just like your make-up routine, it’s important to continue to dress your best as this can really help you feel your best. If you wake up and don’t make an effort, your appearance will not help motivate you. On the other hand, if you wake up and put your best clothes on, this will help you feel good about yourself – plus hopefully, you’ll get a few compliments along the way. Try to get your outfit ready the day before, this way when you get up, you have it there and can put it straight on. If you don’t like it that day, simply change it and put something just as impressive on. As your partner or your friends what they think about your appearance that day – we can guarantee you, you will get a compliment (or two) 

Ensure you are getting enough sleep

Do you track the amount of sleep you get each day and throughout the week? Did you know you want to aim to achieve around 8-9 hours and that this can reduce as you get older? Sleep can have a big impact on your overall mood that day. Without enough sleep your body will not feel 100%, you’ll feel sluggish and increase the chances of you getting ill. Getting plenty of sleep has many other benefits which include helping you control your weight better, helping you think more clearly – which will help you make better decisions – and you’ll get along with others more. 

Keep a positive mindset 

They always say to surround yourself with positive people as this can help you feel more positive – this couldn’t be any more true. Throughout the day, try to make an effort to always be positive when you can. This will help you feel good and produce a better, more positive outlook on life. Just like smiling, it’s very hard to feel negative when everyone is being positive around you. It’s ok to have bad days and not always be positive but it’s important you try to be positive when you can be.
