Sarasota
If you are interested in fishing charters in Sarasota, you will need to consider when to plan your trip. Sarasota is a beautiful city on the south-western coast of Florida. It is known for its amazing resorts, beaches, and environmental and cultural amenities. However, a trip here is not complete without enjoying a fishing excursion. But, when is the best time to go?
The good thing about Sarasota is that you can enjoy fishing all year round, although some species are more prominent at certain periods throughout the year. For example, you will get an excellent amount of Amberjack from December until February. The same applies to Sunshine Bass and Black Crappie.
Other fish grace the waters for longer periods of time, such as the Black Drum, which is around from October through to March. Both Black and Gag Grouper are present all year long, and are especially abundant from November through to March, as are Sheepshead.
For Ladyfish, it does not really matter what time of year you go, you will find this species in the waters. And, what about fish that are prevalent during the summer months? Well, you have plenty of them. This includes Crevalle Jack, Barracuda, Bluegill, Goliath Grouper, Mutton Snapper, Snook, Redear Sunfish, and Tarpon, with the latter available in large quantities during the early part of the summer.
For Largemouth Bass, excellent amounts are found in the waters between February and May, and September and December. You will also find King Mackerel from October all the way through until April, as is the case for Lane Snapper, and Pompano dominates the waters from November all the way through until June.
Hopefully, you now have a better understanding of the different species in the Sarasota waters and when they are available so you can plan your fishing trip effectively. No matter when you visit this part of Florida, you will need an ESTA to enter the USA, so don’t forget to make your application beforehand. You can visit this site to do so.

There is a lot to love about Costa Rica as a whole; it is a stunning country with a warm client and plenty of natural wildlife and beauty. However, there is no denying that one of the main reasons why people visit is to enjoying fishing in the region, and Quepos is definitely one of the best places for this. So, what fish species can you try your hand at hooking when it comes to Costa Rica fishing?

There are a number of techniques you can use to catch Sailfish, however, trolling is one of the most popular. Trolled rubber skirts are an effective approach. When hooking Sailfish, a lot of baits are available to you, with Pacific Mackerel and Goggle Eyes always being popular options.
- Yellowfin Tuna – Next we have Yellowfin Tuna, which is one of the most commonly caught offshore game fish. When enjoying Quepos fishing, a lot of people mistakenly believe that this is one of the easiest fish to catch. This is because they are small in size. However, don’t let their small size fool you. Considering this, they pull hard, which means that if you are to catch this species you are going to need patience. Another factor that makes Yellowfin Tuna more challenging to catch, but undoubtedly more fun too, is that they start to swim in big circles once the boat gets close.
- Roosterfish – Hooking a Roosterfish can be an incredibly rewarding experience. This is the fish everyone wants to hook when they come to Costa Rica. They provide a great challenge, with battles often taking longer than an hour. You may think you have the fish beat, but if you are not careful, the clever Roosterfish will spool you. Once the Roosterfish has taken the bait, don’t act straight away, count to at least five to make sure the fish is turning away so that you have a good hook set.
- Marlin – There are so many reasons to enjoy fishing for Marlin in the Quepos fishing waters. This includes the fact that you can find Marlin weighing up to 800 lbs., although the average size is between 200 and 500 lbs. The size isn’t the only thing that makes Marlin challenging and exciting. They have also got a reputation for their incredible acrobatic jumps and they are extremely strong too.
