This post is in partnership with Craftsy Unlimited, however, as always opinions are 100% my own.
Craftsy Unlimited is Perfect for Empty Nesters
Craftsy has been one of my favorite websites for awhile now because being Empty Nesters means we have a little more downtime now days. I focused on learned a few things while Liz was at home but for the most part I put my hobbies on the back burner so she could have things. Which really is what parenting is all about, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. But because we have more down time I’ve started redoing rooms in the house, picking up new hobbies and restarting some older ones. But today we are going to talk about Craftsy Unlimited because they have upped their crafting game just in time for March which is also known for National Craft Month.
When you first log into your Craftsy Account you can do the standard Craftsy Lessons, or you can upgrade to Craftsy Unlimited. Which is $120 a year for as many courses as you would like to take (which is a huge discount!) And you can take unlimited classes and learn new hobbies, improve on new hobbies and even do them on the go. What’s not to love?
So, now that you have decided to go with Craftsy Unlimited you get to pick the things you are interested in.
I picked Photography, baking, cakes, sewing, quilting, gardening and a few more fun items. That you can see below.
After that you are guided to the next screen then had broken down categories, with specific things you could learn from each course. Talk about information overload in a great way, because with Craftsy Unlimited I will always have something to do at my fingertips.
But the first course I went into was the Photo courses because I’ve always loved photography but think that I lack some skills when it comes to shooting images and then editing them. Some people seem to be pros at it but it is one of the things that I’ve always struggled with. But the instructors at Crafsty break it down to bite sized information and by the time you are done with one video, you are already ready to watch the next segment.
You’ll get access to thousands of hours of expert videos in more than 16 different crafts, plus 600+ of the world’s leading creative experts, exclusive new videos that we release weekly, and unlimited access to all of the classes on Craftsy Unlimited. Once you’re an active member, you’ll even receive special member offers on supplies, recipes, patterns, and more.
A Little About Craftsy
Craftsy is a worldwide craft community offering online classes. It also has a patterns marketplace where independent designers can sell their patterns; a supplies shop with great deals on yarn, fabric, and class kits; and a projects section where members share pictures of their latest craft successes. With over two million members and counting, Craftsy has something for just about everyone, in categories ranging from quilting, sewing, knitting, painting, photography, cooking, and more.
Why should I take a class online?
Online education isn’t just for schools and universities anymore. Craftsy courses provide you the convenience of a world-class instructor in your home, whenever you want to learn. Online education, no matter what subject, is a great alternative to in-person classes for a number of reasons.
With many online learning opportunities being on-demand, you are able to learn at your own pace, anytime. Online learning is a fantastic alternative to in-store craft classes for people with busy schedules or who have difficulty leaving the house. It also allows you to watch a troubling section over-and-over again, so you can see exactly how a technique is carried out, or refer back to your class for relevant concepts before beginning any new projects. You can sign up for a monthly plan at $14.99/month, or an annual plan at $120/year, not including any applicable local taxes.
