One of my favorite times of the year is Thanksgiving. There is so much to be thankful for and it’s so much fun to have a day of just friends, family, and food. I wanted to share some of our favorite things to do for Thanksgiving fun around our home.

Put Together a Thankful Jar

If the people in your home are old enough and if your guests don’t mind, consider making a thankful jar. This is a jar in which everyone puts why they are thankful. You simply have the write it on a piece of paper and then place it in the jar. You then go around in a circle and take turns reading out loud what everyone said.

Pumpkin Pie Decorating Contest

If you’re looking for something to do on Thanksgiving with the family, consider a pumpkin pie decorating contest. This is something in which the whole family can do as well. You each have toppings ready and see who can decorate the pumpkin pie the best. Whoever wins doesn’t have to eat everyone else’s pumpkin pies.

Thanksgiving Trivia

Another really fun game to play on Thanksgiving is trivia. This is a game in which everyone is tested on their knowledge of the history of Thanksgiving in America. This will take some prep, so the host will have to do his/her research.

Watch Football

Another fun thing to do on Thanksgiving is so simple anyone can do it. Enjoy the day relaxing and watching football. If you don’t feel like going above and beyond what is required of you on that holiday then feel free to bask in the loveliness of football. I know my family enjoys a day to just sit and enjoy football.
