The Dog Who Saved Summer

The Dog Who Saved Summer
Anchor Bay Entertainment, now in its 20th Year, has set June 2 as the DVD and On Demand release date for The Dog Who Saved Summer. The heartwarming franchise stars Dean Cain, Gary Valentine, Elisa Donovan and Patrick Muldoon with Mario Lopez returning as “Zeus”. And is a must watch for all families this summer! We have been lab fans for years and this movie definitely tugged on my heartstrings more than once because Zues was as mischievous as Sadie was at times. While we never sent her to obedience school, we probably should have more than once.

The Dog Who Saved Summer is a must watch family friendly film that will be available on DVD and On Demand on June 2nd!! But if you have Digital HD it will be available on May 22nd!! This adorable movie stars some amazing talent including  Mario Lopez (“Extra” host, “Saved by the Bell”), Dean Cain (“Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman”), Gary Valentine (“The King of Queens,” Paul Blart: Mall Cop 1 and 2, Jack & Jill), Elisa Donovan (Clueless, “Sabrina the Teenage Witch”), Patrick Muldoon (Starship Troopers) and Joey “Coco” Diaz (The Longest Yard) reprise their roles in the sixth installment of the popular franchise and are joined once again by director Sean Robert Olson and screenwriters Michael Ciminera and Richard Gnolfo. The hilarious fun-in-the-sun comedy also stars Martin Kove (“Cagney & Lacey,” The Karate Kid), Francesca Capaldi (“Dog with a Blog”), Cole Jensen (“Crash & Bernstein”) and the voice of William Zabka (The Karate Kid).

When former police K-9 Zeus (voiced by Lopez) accidentally destroys an important party, the Bannister family decides it’s time to send him to obedience school. Classes start off on the wrong paw when the no-nonsense instructor Vernon (Kove) and his Marine K-9 assistant Apollo (voiced by Zabka) fail Zeus on every lesson. Fearing the pound may be his next stop, Zeus and the Bannister children (Capaldi and Jensen) enlist help from a janitor who teaches them his unique training methods that could help Zeus win “Top Dog” at the school’s showcase. Meanwhile, a familiar trio of bumbling burglars (Cain, Muldoon and Diaz) is planning a daring diamond heist. Zeus must outsmart the thieves, as well as his hard-nosed instructor, in order to win the big tournament and foil the jewelry robbery before it’s too late.

Including a hilarious blooper reel the whole family can enjoy, The Dog Who Saved Summer DVD will be available for the suggested retail price of $19.98. While I don’t want to ruin the movie for you I won’t include any spoilers but this is one of the summers must watch movies!!
