The Secret To Keeping Your Skin Hydrated Properly

The original standard of what can be constituted as pure beauty is and always has been, smooth, clear and healthy skin. Skin that is radiant and plump, will always remain what the ideal look is for someone who wants to be stunning. It’s what the portrait artists and sculpture artists of centuries gone by looked for. When they would have their subject and their ideal candidate, they would proceed to immortalize these women for future generations to appreciate. Whether it be a fair maiden waiting for her lover by the shore, a princess in her traditional clothing, or even perhaps a naked virgin bathing in a river, these images are burned into our minds. Of course in the modern times there is massive shift in the culture of beauty. People are more concerned about makeup and perhaps how their outfit looks rather than how beautiful and natural their skin looks. That’s not to say some women don’t try but clearly, the focus is on other things like eyeliner, blush, powder and mascara. Maybe, it’s because achieving incredibly gorgeous clear healthy skin is not so easy for many people. There is one secret to this however, and if more people knew it they would understand how their skin works better too.

The underlying secret

The underlying secret to clear beautiful skin is quite simply, aiding it in it’s normal function. However, this isn’t as easy as it sounds. For one thing your understanding of how strong your skin is needs to change. The overriding problem with our skin is, it’s retention of water.

When you can aid the skin in first absorbing, then most importantly retaining that moisture and hydration, then you can unlock your skin’s true potential. Dry skin occurs when the surface is not hydrated enough. This is why many people turn to products like this Korean Skincare Moisturizing Face Cream to keep their skin as hydrated as possible. Normally, this is due to the skin not being able to secrete enough natural oils from within the pores.

The second issue is that the skin itself, doesn’t absorb the oils anyway, making the whole cycle of the skin hydrating itself a failure. I love my organic face oils because it absorbs into my face without making my skin feel greasy.

The Secret To Keeping Your Skin Hydrated Properly

Retaining for your skin

More often than not, when you do have naturally dry skin, you could develop skin irritations and conditions such as eczema. The skin is so dry that it cracks and causes discomfort, which then leads to itching and pretty soon scratching like there’s no tomorrow. To avoid this, you have fight the battle for your skin in retaining water in the skin. Products that are using hyaluronic acid are known to aid the skin is keeping as much hydration as possible. You’re probably asking yourself what is hyaluronic acid? It’s known as a super hydrator, because it can hold up to 1,000 times it’s own weight in water. Helping the skin perform it’s natural duties, it’s also helps in fighting the signs of aging. The skin is tighter, tort and looks healthier due to more moisture filling out wrinkles and blotches.

Jumpstart your protection

Our bodies need a good swift kick up the rear sometimes to get going like they should already be doing. However, for people with dry skin you’ll know that you don’t get the same responses other people might do for the same action. You might be using moisturizers all the time, but give it an hour or so after applying your layer, and your skin is dry yet again. One can get quite frustrated at how some people can take incredibly hot baths and their skin immediate hydrates itself, yet yours does not. Put simply, those with dry skin just don’t have normal skin. You need to actively fight for your skin and jumpstart it into it’s normal functions.

One way you can do this is to increase your blood circulation so that a new and fresh supply of oxygen is always available. The only way to do this is to exercise and workout. However lifting weights is not going to be the best way of going about it. What you need to do for your body to activate it’s core systems is to do regular cardio workouts. Start off slow by jogging a few miles on the treadmill of around your neighborhood. The next and perhaps even better option is to do targeted aerobics. For example, you will be doing jumping jacks, one leg raises, pumping arm movements so that different parts of your body get a workout of their own. The more targeted workouts you do the more surface area can be isolated and improved.

Drinks to avoid

There are always some foods and drinks that make things worse for dry skin. Some of them will be worse than others and some of them will be things that we tend to consume everyday. First off, limit or rather cut coffee out of your diet. The coffee has a negative affect on our skin because it dehydrates the surface layers more rapidly. coffee is quite a strong, intense bean and when we drink it, it begins to clog our pores little by little. coffee also raises our heart rate because it’s a stimulant. This then causes our body temperature to rise so we can cool off, making our skin lose even more moisture and be in need of hydration. Swap your coffee drink for a natural smoothie that has healthy sugars which stimulate just as well if not better.

Stop drinking alcohol. There are no two ways about this. Alcohol has a number of negative affects on our bodies but our skin especially is dried out by the consumption of this drink. When our liver digests alcohol it recognizes it as a complex carbohydrate. After being digested and processed, alcohol is stored as a very dense fat. You can already so the problem. The more fat your have, the more difficult the circulation is going to be and this prevents fresh oxygen from getting to the skin. That’s why many people who drink too much have blotchy skin with red and pale patches all over their body.

Abrasions need to be replaced

Rough surfaces that graze against our skin often have the same or worse effects that a bad diet can. Most importantly, the textures that we are most in contact with are going to play the biggest role when it comes to external skin irritation. The bed is where this most often occurs. For many people with dry skin or skin that has trouble hydrating itself regularly, natural fibers will cause the most frequently felt problems. Wool is just something to avoid outright when you do have this kind of skin. Wool is a very good insulating material, but it’s fibers are coarse at a very miniscule level. Even though it might feel soft to the touch, overtime the microscopic rough ends of the fibers will cause itching. Wool just like cotton is very efficient at soaking up liquids and moisture. Both of these natural materials will eat up the oil on your skin very easily leaving your skin bare to the uncomfortable irritation.

It’s best to go with something that is manmade. For example a synthetic fabric such as polyester. However, for something that’s a little more smoother and softer, nylon is the better choice. Use nylon for your bedsheets, pillow cases and your sleeping items such as pajamas and t-shirts. Nightgowns too should be made from a synthetic materials that isn’t going to chafe and rub your skin dry.

The sun is not your friend

Sunkissed skin is sometimes the image used in many beauty products and for brand marketing. However, the sun is not your skin’s friend and in fact can be detrimental to your hydration levels. Even thought sunlight does offer the skin some nutrients in the way of vitamin D, if you have dry skin and want it to retain as much water content as possible, then you will have to stay out of direct sunlight as much as possible. It’s sounds strange and even as if you are needed to behave like a vampire, however, it’s necessary for the achievement of radiant skin.

Even for a normal work day where you’re not going to be out in the sun for very long, you should moisture before you go to work. Use a product that is going to retain as much water in your skin. Doctors will often prescribe topic steroids to those that suffer from eczema with this goal in mind, but you can use serums, ointments and even creams with such qualities. Holidays are going to look quite different now but if you can get a certain level of silky smooth and beautiful skin before booking, then sunbathing won’t be limited too much. The skin on your face is especially sensitive to hot sunshine so make sure you are never exposed to the sun for too long in this regard.

The secret to achieving hydrated and beautiful skin is to help the skin do it’s normal job. Retaining as much water in your skin is the absolute priority to making sure your skin doesn’t crack, wrinkle, get irritated and look weathered. You can do this by using certain products that hold their weight many times over in water and will stay on the surface of your skin for longer as well.
