The Story Behind The Story A Monster Calls

A MONSTER CALLS releases nationwide from Focus Features on December 23, 2016 ! I LOVE Liam Neeson and this is on my must watch movie list in December. I saw the film in LA in November and I can’t wait to watch it again and again.

Check out the previews below to get a glimpse into this beautifully told story. Then be sure to catch A MONSTER CALLS in Los Angeles and New York THIS FRIDAY December 23rd

In the Eyes Preview:–Life is in the eyes

The film will expand nationwide on January 6th, 2017!! That is when I will be able to watch it again!

But if you want to find out a little more behind the story, watch this featurette. I can’t say enough good things about this movie!
Story: A visually spectacular drama from director J.A. Bayona (“The Impossible”). 12-year-old Conor (Lewis MacDougall), dealing with his mother’s (Felicity Jones) illness, a less-than-sympathetic grandmother (Sigourney Weaver), and bullying classmates, finds a most unlikely ally when a Monster appears at his bedroom window. Ancient, wild, and relentless, the Monster guides Conor on a journey of courage, faith, and truth. Toby Kebbell plays Conor’s father, and Liam Neeson stars in performance-capture and voiceover as the nocturnally visiting Monster of the title.
Director: J.A. Bayona (“The Impossible,” “The Orphanage”)

Writer: Patrick Ness, based on his novel A Monster Calls

Cast: Sigourney Weaver, Felicity Jones, Toby Kebbell, Lewis MacDougall, and Liam Neeson ( I would love to meet Liam Neeson!!)

The Making of A Monster

A visually spectacular and unabashedly emotional drama from director J.A. Bayona (“The Impossible”). 12-year-old Conor (Lewis MacDougall) is dealing with far more than other boys his age. His beloved and devoted mother (Felicity Jones) is ill. He has little in common with his imperious grandmother (Sigourney Weaver). His father (Toby Kebbell) has resettled thousands of miles away. But Conor finds a most unlikely ally when the Monster (portrayed by Liam Neeson in performance-capture and voiceover) appears at his bedroom window one night. Ancient, wild, and relentless, the Monster guides Conor on a journey of courage, faith, and truth that powerfully fuses imagination and reality.

Coming to theaters everywhere on December 23, 2016

I like that bullying is being brought up more often. I remember when I was in school, we were just told to suck it up.
