Things to Do in Arkansas

After my visit at the Horseshoe Ranch in May, I’ve been bit by the travel bug.On our way home we made a quick stop for fuel at a local convenience store and they had several pamphlets available which got me thinking about where to visit next.  I’m planning my next Arkansas vacation adventure. Visiting places that are just a few hours from home is how we are planning on spending our vacation time this year so I figured Arkansas was the next state to conquer.

The one thing I wanted to do while at Horseshoe Canyon Ranch that I never found the time to do was to Elk watch. Just about a quarter of a mile from the Ranch there is a place to watch them. But if you don’t find it you can check out the Hillary Jones Wildlife Museum where they have full body mounts. Although my family will have to go and do both!

I’ve also been told that Scenic Point is a must see while traveling in Arkansas. It is known as the Best View in Arkansas where you can see all of the way to Missouri on a clear day. Ironically when you are on the Ride The Ducks attraction in Branson, MO they point out that you can see Arkansas from one spot on the tour. But I know that the Branson location is a sight to see and I can’t wait to get to Scenic Point!

Another must do attraction for us is the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. It is America’s Premier Big Cat Refuge that helps rescue Cats Nationwide and is home to over 100 Big Cats. This location has been on my travel to do list for several years because of Johnny Dare from 98.9 The Rock! One day soon we will make it happen!

We will also go through the Wild Wilderness Drive Through Safari in Gentry, Arkansas which is home to 80 different species of exotic and domestic animals. This safari was established in the early 1970’s and allows guests to get up close and personal with the animals found there.

If you would rather take a Ride on a railroad the ES & NA Railway is just the ticket which allows your family to step back in time so to speak. Rolling through the beautiful Ozarks you can ride the rails and have dinner on the dining car just like the days gone by.

What else are you wanting to see when you travel to Arkansas?
