Tips for a Cleaner Refrigerator

The fridge is one of the most important appliances in our houses. We use it to store and to keep our food fresh. Imagine, what our lives would be if we didn’t have refrigerators. The thing is, though, that we have to maintain these appliances clean if we want to keep our food healthy and fresh. How to do it? Here are a few tips from a cleaning services provider on how to clean your fridge:

Tips for a Cleaner Refrigerator

Check Condition of Foods

The most important thing that you have to do is to check the expiry dates of your food supplies regularly. If you let something perish, the appliance will start smelling awful. Not to mention the mess that the spoiled food will do in the refrigerator.

Empty Your Fridge First

When you start cleaning your fridge, always empty it, first, so that you can see all the spots and dirty areas. When you do the cleaning, if you feel that your fridge is not working, you can use affordable refrigerator removals service to replace or fix the issue.

DIY Cleaner

Use a home-made vinegar/water solution to clean the interior of your fridge. Your fridge cleaner is ready for use. If there are more stubborn stains in the appliance, just add a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda to the mixture, and they won’t have any chance.

Mix these products in the bottle, close it and shake to mix the ingredients well. Spray the interior of your refrigerator with this mixture and leave it to stay for fifteen minutes. Use an abrasive sponge or a cloth to remove the dirt and stains from the appliance, and wipe with a clean damp cloth in the end.

You can use this technique to keep the odors out of your fridge, changing the box of bicarbonate of soda every month. If you don’t have baking soda, you can also use cornstarch. For the outside of your refrigerator, it will remove all stains and dirt and will make your appliance shiny again.

The exterior of your refrigerator can be easily shined up with a mixture of rubbing alcohol and lemon juice. It is usually used on glass surfaces, but it does a wonderful job for cleaning enamel, too. Mix equal parts of the products in a spray bottle again, so to apply the cleaner more easily and spray the outside of your appliance.

Dry Your Fridge

Always leave the appliance open to dry naturally after you’ve cleaned it, and to ventilate it, before you start using it again. If there are any bad odors in it, put an open box of baking soda in it for a few hours, and it will absorb all smells.

These tips are very simple, but not everyone follows them. Most people prefer to clean their fridges with commercial cleaners, or not to clean them at all, but these are not the right things to do. Follow these tips to make your refrigerator clean every time and make it last longer
