Tips for finding a Used Vehicle Under $10K

Are your looking for a used vehicle for under $10K? You know you want to get the best value for your money. You may be wondering where you should start. Here are tips to finding a used vehicle under $10K.

#1. Look online for vehicles that hold its value.

Finding vehicles that hold their value, mean they are reliable and well built. Keep in mind that other factors will determine whether the vehicle is worth your $10,000 budget. Starting with a good foundation will help direct you toward a good used vehicle.

#2. Know the current value of vehicles you are thinking about.

You can know current values of vehicles by searching reliable sources like Kelly Blue Book. Knowing the current value, will help you find the dealership that is pricing fairly. It is also important to know the condition of the vehicle.

#3. When you find the vehicle you like, get as much history on it that you can.

There are websites that help you find the vehicle’s history. Dealerships have access to history on the vehicles they are selling, like Carfax. Other vital factors are the mileage and history of the cars, especially on any accidents it may have been involved with. We always request a Carfax just to make sure we have our bases covered.

#4. Don’t be afraid to look at individual sellers.

Whether you are looking to buy from a dealer or individual seller, you need to do research on either. You can find valuable information on people that are trying to scam customers and what to look for. Don’t ever put money down on a vehicle you have not seen or test driven.

Putting together all the information that you have found, will help you get a great used vehicle for your $10K. Knowing who you are buying from, the value, and history of the vehicle will give you everything you need to buy a diamond used car and not a lemon.

Check out the Special Offers

Lots of dealerships have special offers on their websites you just have to know where to find them. My friends over at West Valley Chrysler Jeep has a section special incentives where they have lots of cars for under $12,000!

Taking the time you need to research the dealership, to test drive the car, and be sure about your purchase before you buy will help you make a decision you are happy with. Reading the contract and warranty will help you to avoid making a bad purchase thinking any problems would be fixed and find out you’re wrong.
