Tips for Planning a Bridal Shower
*I received some items free in exchange for my honest opinion, however as always opinions are 100% my own.
Planning a Bridal Shower is lots of work, but something that is fun at the same time. Our daughter is getting married in September (YIKES!) and I partnered with Oriental Trading to work with them on the Bridal Shower for our daughter. While they have lots of great merchandise for birthday parties, showers, weddings and everything in between we went with a rustic bridal shower theme. The wedding will also be a rustic theme as well, so the bridal shower was kind of like a test run with lots of things that will be different from the wedding.
One of the bridesmaids made up the bridal shower invitations so that was marked off the list quickly. (Thank you!) Next up, came the fun of deciding how to decorate.
I wanted it to be simple yet fun so we used this as a trial run for babies breath in the old mason jars and centerpieces that we will use at the reception.
We were able to score the table runners and the lace at 60% off at our local craft store so that was a score. The wood centerpieces Brady actually cut and we were able to save $10-$20 each on those. Then for the guests, they each received a shower puff and a rustic bag from Oriental Trading that was filled with chocolate.
We decorated the gift tables with a burlap banner and these adorable Mrs. Balloons with Navy blue balloons to give the gift table a pop of color.
Liz looked adorable in her “Bride to Be” Sash while we enjoyed the games, gifts, and of course food. We learned a lot about Liz and Austin and enjoyed spoiling the bride to be. We even had a toilet paper wedding dress game as you can see below and we used fake plastic rings to keep from saying bride, which I lost very quickly!
I hope you enjoyed your glimpse into our Bridal Shower and here are my top tips for helping you plan a Bridal Shower.
Tips for Planning a Bridal Shower
- Keep it simple it takes a lot of time to set things up so make sure you have extra hands available to help you decorate.
- Assign the bridesmaids/matron of honor things to bring so one person isn’t carrying the whole load.
- Send out the invitations about a month in advance so you know how many people to expect.
- Keep the guests entertained by playing games and keep the bride moving from table to table so every guest feels like they were able to enjoy the shower and the bride.
- Bring an empty vehicle so there is plenty of room for gifts. We ended up putting things in two vehicles at the end of the day to get it all to Liz and Austins.
- Start planning and shopping at Oriental Trading for all of your bridal shower needs, their quality and customer service will always be great, I promise!
