Treat Yourself: X Tips for Mental Health
Life. Life can be tough. And when things start to build up, it feels like there’s this mysterious pressure in the back of your mind. And the worse it gets, the harder it is to be present. And the harder it is to be present, the harder it is to focus. And the harder it is to focus? Well, that’s when everything else starts to suffer. All of a sudden your relationships are starting to become strained. Your performance at work is suffering. And worst of all. Your love life is starting to plummet. What can you do? How do you turn back from a path that your mind tricks you into believing is inevitable? Well, I’m here to tell you that you have options. There’s always hope, no matter how bleak life seems. You CAN come back from anything. It is a long process. But it’s one of the most worthwhile things you can do. While you’re doing this, however, I cannot stress enough how important it is to be kind to yourself during this time. This is hard. Hard for everybody. Much harder than anyone ever speaks about publicly. And these are the moments when it’s time for you to become your own greatest cheerleader. So in that respect. Let’s explore some options for self-care together that can make a difference on your journey!

Who Needs a Wedding?
When you’re getting married it’s one of the happiest times in your life. Yes, there is stress. Planning a wedding isn’t easy. But it is one of those stresses that once you’re on the other side of it you can’t help but smile. Because after all of that stress you got married. You get to spend the rest of your life with someone you love. And because of that. Every part of the process makes you smile. But what happens when you desperately want that ring? When you want more than anything to be married, but you just don’t have the relationship yet? Well, what if I told you. That you could just buy a wedding band? I’m serious. Just go get one. Nothing is stopping you! Now if you’re asking why the heck would I do that? Well, for some people it’s therapeutic to alleviate that stress. Now of course you’re not getting married (unless you want to marry yourself, which hey no judgment!), but the very act of emancipating yourself from that feeling that you need someone else to do something for you? That can have profound effects on your mental health. This life is hard enough without unnecessary judgments. If you want the ring? Just go get the ring!
Some Sterling Sheets!
Now as any person struggling with their mental health will tell you. Your bed can either be your best friend or your worst enemy. What may start as seeking solace in a place of comfort can easily become a codependent relationship before you even know it. Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys famously spent a number of years just lying in bed. While his old band fell apart. Now I’m not sharing this story as a scare tactic, or even to say that you shouldn’t spend a day so often lying in bed, just that it’s something to pay attention to. Something that always helps me want to keep my bed nice and tidy tho is nice new pair of queen sheets like these! This is an amazing set of sheets, with real silver embedded into the fabric. This not only helps to keep you cool at night in the summer but stops 99% of bacteria growth. That means you can do up to three times less laundry than with a normal set of sheets! They also feel incredibly luxurious as they’re woven through a luxuriously soft cotton blend that makes them a perfect come-up for any mattress!
Keep Calm
One of the worst parts of a mental health crisis is when you have something called intrusive thoughts. Now those who know what I’m talking about are all nodding their heads in agreement, but for those who don’t. An intrusive thought is basically when you have a negative thought reoccur over and over again in your head without you consciously summoning it. It’s annoying and loud and generally just intrusive! Now as you can imagine it’s pretty difficult to focus on work or anything for that matter when these thoughts are occurring. So one is left to wonder. How can I silence these thoughts, and also stay kind to myself? Well, my friend, kindness is the answer. When you meet that negativity with kindness instead of judgment the effect it has on you is incalculable. Now when you couple that kindness with a meditation app like Calm you can start to quiet those thoughts. Meditating has proven therapeutic benefits, as well as teaches you a level of discipline that you can take back to your job or any of your other hobbies. This is beneficial because sometimes we genuinely need to force ourselves to take some time out and relearn the power of quiet.
Getting a Little Physical
You would be shocked at the level that physical and mental health correlates with each other. You see health is generally a cyclical thing, and your body and your mind are two halves of the same coin. What affects one usually affects the other. The last thing you want to feel while you’re meditating is how badly your neck hurts. That’s where the Therabody Massage Gun comes in. This is the ultimate tool in the world of self-massage. Utilizing the healing power of impact therapy can soothe those knots and tender muscles so that you can focus on yourself!
As anyone who’s been on this road will tell you. Mental health is a journey. It can be hard and while you’re on your way; there can be few rewards. But once you reach a point where you find balance in your day-to-day life. That’s when something truly special happens. That’s when you get to be yourself.
