How To Turn Your Garden Into A Peaceful Escape

Is your budget a little tight for a vacation abroad this year? If so, you’re not alone; only 35% of Americans plan to go overseas this year, with many others choosing to holiday in their own state or forgo the vacation completely. This is partially due to the current economy, which has encouraged people to save money wherever they can, but if you aren’t going away you can still create a peaceful oasis at home.

Instead of looking towards a vacation for some stress relief, why not consider your garden? It is easy and cheap to transform your garden into a beautiful, calming oasis, and this will give you the chance to escape and relax all year around.

Here are a few times to help you turn your garden into a peaceful escape.

How To Turn Your Garden Into A Peaceful Escape

Add A Water Feature

A water feature will make your garden more peaceful for a variety of reasons; research has found that the sound of bubbling water makes people feel calmer and more creative, and the beauty of the fountain will make your garden more attractive and appealing. The final benefit is that the water will attract songbirds, helping to fill your garden with the relaxing sounds of nature. If you want to get an outdoor water feature for your garden, you could consider a large water fountain if you have space to spare, or a smaller focal point for your wall if you have less of an area.

Plant Lots Of Fragrant, Beautiful Flowers

One of the best ways to make your garden seem like a different world is by planting lots of fragrant, beautiful flowers. This will improve both the smell and the appearance of your garden, and flower fragrances have even been found to have a beneficial effect on the body. Some of the best options include chamomile and lavender, as both are known to help with relaxation. Gardenias are also a good option as they smell great and they are very hardy, so they require little care!

Use Bamboo To Reduce Noise

Bamboo is one of the cheapest plants or materials that you can buy, and it comes with a useful advantage; it can help to reduce outside sound, so if you line your garden with it, it will help to subdue the sounds of neighbors talking and cars starting.

You can easily transform your garden into a peaceful oasis without breaking the bank, and this means that you will always have your own retreat to escape to. This is perfect for anyone who loves nature or enjoys gardening. Also, remember you don’t have to go it alone, check out The Local Tree Experts for help.

No need to spend too much to make your garden beautiful. You can easily do simple things that barely require spending, such as keeping your garden well watered. Water keeps your plants nourished, so they grow strong and healthy, giving you a lush and vibrant garden, but remember not to water your plants as needed. Too much water can deprive your plants of oxygen, and too little can make your plants stop growing or wilt.

While you don’t want to ruin your plants and budget when keeping your garden beautiful, you also wouldn’t want to ruin the environment and the city’s water source. This is the part where you might need to spend a little. Invest in backflow preventer valves so that contaminants in stagnant water will not pollute public drinking water. Backflow preventer valves prevent health dangers and the potential costly damages of backflow.

This is so interesting to know about bamboo. I know its the quickest way to build a hut and is cheap and eco friendly.
