If you are heading to Dallas, Texas on vacation, you’re likely to have a great time away. This city is full to the brim of exciting places to go and great things to do. However, planning your vacation is not always as easy as you might have hoped. This is because there are many options for any visitor.

Things to do in Dallas 

– Spend time at the State FairTaking place in September and October, the State Fair is home to auto shows, food trucks, Oktoberfest parties, pig races, and so much more. The State Fair is a great place to visit for all the family but make sure you visit early or late on in the day as it can get pretty busy. 

– Watch a Rodeo

If you are looking for a real taste of Texas, why not watch a rodeo? They take place between April and September and it’s usually a lot of fun. You can even learn how to ride broncos if you wish to! 

Where to Stay in Dallas 

– The Downtown area has recently been developed and is now thriving. click here if you’re looking for some great hotels in Dallas that won’t break the bank. The Downtown area is home to an aquarium, a museum, and some great restaurants. 

Home to some of the best places to eat and the Texas Fairgrounds, South Dallas has a lot of clubs in the local vicinity and some great Mexican food. 

How to Reach Dallas 

Many visitors use the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. If you choose this option you can get into the heart of town using a DART train. There are also some shuttle buses that will run you into CentrePort or DFW airport station for free. 

If you’re traveling from the north by car you’ll find that the I-35 is the best route. If you’re coming from Houston, choose the I-20 or I-45 from Louisianan. 

You can reach Dallas by using the Amtrak trains. You can reach the city from Oklahoma City on the Heartland Flyer. If you’re traveling from Chicago you can opt for the Texas Eagle should you wish to.

When to Visit Dallas 

Dallas is usually quite hot between the months of June and September. However, the city can still be quite warm in May. Temperatures can reach up to 86f (30c) in July and August so you’ll need to make sure you are prepared for the weather. 

If you wish to visit Dallas when it’s a little cooler, opt for the months of April to May or October as temperatures can be quite pleasant. 

Now you know more about Dallas, you can start to plan your time here a little better. Think about all those places you would like to visit and how you’re going to travel to Dallas in the first place. You can then relax and get ready to enjoy your vacation.
