Ways to Keep Kids Busy on Road Trips
If you’re going on a road trip, you basically need to keep your kids busy. Unless you want them yelling and screaming, it’s important to make sure your kids are SUPER busy. Luckily, I have some tips to help you out.
#1. Bring snacks.
One thing you should know is that you cannot leave home without snacks whenever you are headed on a road trip. Road trips make people hungry, especially kids. I love to bring a bunch of snacks with me and it keeps my kids happy. We try to avoid the sugary stuff though and only focus on the healthy stuff. Sugar and kids in car can equal craziness.
#2. Electronics are your friend.
I know you want to avoid electronics, but it makes sense to bring electronics while you’re on a road trip with kids. Kids need entertained and that is something only electronics can do. Movies, games, and so much more can be done on electronics. Make sure you bring an extra charger and enable WiFi in the car from your phone.
#3. Bring Busy Bags
Something that I have done in the past when my kids were little is bring along busy bags. These are perfect for keeping kids busy for an extended period of time. I might have colored macaroni noodles in one bag that they need to separate. And in another bag, I may have a puzzle. Pens and paper also work awesome wonders when you’re in a car for an extended period of time.
Riding in a car with kids doesn’t have to be crazy. Instead, check out these tips and add your own ideas to the mix. What are some of your favorite ways to keep the kids busy on road trips? I’d love to hear your ideas!
