Card party games are played using a deck of playing cards and usually involve multiple players. These games can range from simple ones that are quick to learn to more complex games that require strategy and skill.
Some popular card party games include poker, spade, heart, bridge, and blackjack. But what are the best party games that keep people entertained, letting everybody have a good time? Find out in this article.
1. Poker
Poker involves strategy and chance. The object is to win by collecting cards with a higher value than your opponents. It has many variations, including Texas Hold ’em and Omaha Hi/Lo Split 8 or Better.
How do you play?
First, each player throws $1 into the pot and receives two cards face down from an opponent who’s also dealt two cards face down (a “hole” in traditional poker). Players then reveal their hands simultaneously, and the highest hand wins! You can keep playing until everyone has folded. If someone raises the bet after everyone else has folded (or no one does), that player becomes a “button.”
2. Dominoes
Dominoes is a game of skill and luck. It is played with domino sets or boards with circles on them with numbers inside each circle (1 through 10). The person who rolls the dice will choose one number to play. They can continue playing that same number or use another one if they get it right. If not, they lose their turn and have to wait until someone else rolls again before they can continue playing dominoes! It’s also an excellent party game for kids, adults, and couples.
3. Bocce ball
Bocce ball is a game played with balls. It’s a team sport and can be played on a court, though the game has been played indoors and outdoors since its invention centuries ago.
The object of bocce is to sink your ball in the hole closest to where you stand while preventing your opponent from completing the same task.
Teams consist of two players each, who take turns throwing their balls at one another until one team has successfully sunk all three of their respective balls in an agreed-upon order (e.g., first player throws ball #1 into hole 1; second player throws ball number 2 into hole 2).
4. Go-Fish
Go-Fish is a card game with a standard deck of playing cards. Two or more players usually play it, but it can also be played solo if you have access to unlimited decks. Go-Fish is competitive and fast-paced, making it ideal for children just learning to play in groups.
The goal of this game is simple: get as many points as possible by playing certain cards (cards are worth 1 point each). You can try your best not to draw specific cards. But if you do draw one, congratulations! You won!
5. Cribbage
Cribbage is a board game for two to four players. It’s played with a standard deck of cards, aiming to score the most points by placing those cards in your cribbage hand. The winner is determined by one player reaching 13 points first or having more points than all other players combined regarding their cribbage hand (which consists of these four cards plus any additional ones).
These are the five best party games you can play with friends, family, or co-workers. Whether it’s a game night at your house or just some time spent with friends over snacks and drinks after work, these are surefire ways to have fun!
