This hasn’t been a typical summer as we continue to follow the CDC’s social distancing guidelines.
Vacations, weddings, and reunions all over the country were canceled. Concert venues and swimming pools remain closed in most cities and people are starting to get a little stir-crazy.
The good news is, with a block party band and some neighbors, there are still ways to have fun and stay safe at the same time.
Read on to learn more about why block parties with live music may be the perfect solution to your summer blues.
Block Parties Get People Together Outdoors
Indoor gatherings aren’t a safe bet, but when you’re outside, it’s much easier to maintain the proper distance from people outside of your household. Remember, the recommended distance is six feet, which is about two adult arm lengths. Add some masks and you’re even safer throwing a block party with your neighbors.
What to Do About Food
Normally, you might consider asking everyone to bring a side dish or two and swapping food. However, you may want to stick to your own food this summer.
Instead, ask everyone to bring their grill around to the front yard and set up their own individual lawn chairs or picnic blankets. You can still share a meal even if the food isn’t technically shared.
How to Entertain the Kids
Do you have kids in your neighborhood who are excited to get out and socialize? Encourage games and playtime that don’t involve physical contact but still involve fun!
Games like hopscotch are a great place to start. While you’ve got the chalk out, why not have a chalk competition? Tell each kid on the block to decorate their driveway and give out a prize at the end of the night.
A Block Party Band Will Bring the Noise
You may be wondering how to keep things lively while everyone is maintaining six or more feet of distance. Fortunately, you won’t have to shout out one another from your respective lawns all night if you add in some music.
Skip the boombox and look for party bands for hire. That way, you don’t have to worry about setting up a stage and speakers or finding out which one of your neighbors knows how to play guitar. The block party band will take care of all of that for you.
Plus, the live music will be loud enough that everyone will be able to hear it without crowding around the stage. You can dance along and have a great time without ever leaving your own front yard.
Skip the Summer Blues and Throw a Block Party
If you’re starting to feel a little down from all of the cancellations and social distancing this summer, a block party equipped with a block party band is the perfect solution! Get together with neighbors without risking your safety.
