Witch Plate Vinyl Tutorial
Supplies Needed:

Black Vinyl
Silhouette Cutting Machine
Blank White Plate

Directions:

1. Head over to the Silhouette Online store and grab the Cute & scary bats file as well as the you say I’m a witch – phrase file.

2. Open up your Silhouette Studio Software and open up your library and grab your You say I’m a witch-phrase. Once it’s opened up we are going to click on the item, right click and remove compound path.

3. Once we remove compound path we want to go and group words together for different vinyl color cutting.

4. Optional: I colored all of the wording with the same color vinyl I was going to be using just for my reference only. Note: The silhouette machine can not color only cut.

5. A little trick since we’ll be layering vinyl. Add these registration squares at the top of your project so you can line up the squares for easy layering and placement.

6. Head over to Cut settings and select the wording you are going to be cutting first. I chose to cut all my black text first.

7. Feed vinyl into your machine and cut away. Remove Vinyl and set aside.

8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 with the remaining 2 colors.

9. Once you have all your vinyl cut and weeded it’s time to start the layering process.

10. This part can get tricky but you’ll catch on fast. Lay your piece of transfer tape onto the first set of black vinyl wording and press down firmly with your scrapping tool or credit card. Next you will lift up the transfer tape and vinyl and lay the vinyl back down on the paper backing but leave the squares hanging off.

11. Take your purple vinyl and match the vinyl squares up on top and pull back the backing so it lays flat onto the black. Repeat with the green. By the time you are done you will have all 3 vinyl pieces on one piece of transfer paper.

12. Now apply to the Plate in the center, press down firmly and remove transfer tape.

13. If you want to add the fun little bats like I did, just open up the file Cute and Scary Bats and cut away!

I printed the bats on black vinyl for the plate and also printed them on black cardstock for the background. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and can’t wait to see your projects.
